Our story begins in the forests of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where owner and master logger, Heath Bunnell, has spent his life working the land. The owner of HB Logging, Heath saw an opportunity to create mulch from extra wood leftover from timber harvest projects. Grinding the stumps, branches, and debris that otherwise would be left on the forest floor, Kirby Mulch processes it's mulch locally, minimizing transportation cost and emissions, and producing an all-natural mulch free of manufactured wood, pallets, chemicals, nails, and other contaminants.

Through a diverse offering of low-grade wood and wood by-product solutions, Kirby Mulch Company supports a sustainable forest economy in the Northeast Kingdom by connecting a variety of forestry related stakeholders. In addition, we have a large focus on helping stimulate the local economy through much needed job creation. 

We offer retail and wholesale mulch, soil, firewood and stone options to markets from White River Junction along the Green Mountains and into Northern New Hampshire.
